Reporting to the Manager Compliance, this position provides high-quality customer service to the public, legal practitioners and internal stakeholders. The position assists with the compliance function and deals with issues relating to the regulatory requirements of applicants for admission as an Australian lawyer and legal practitioners. The position is responsible for assisting with regulatory issues, including the complaints process and triaging of matters, professional indemnity insurance obligations, the accreditation of academic institutions providing tertiary education, and continuous professional development, freedom of information and internal review requests.

The Senior Lawyer supports the Director Investigations and Legal and the Principal Lawyers in their roles and the high quality and efficient delivery of legal services. You will lead or undertake investigations of complex matters, including dispute resolution and prosecution or litigation of civil or criminal matters along with supervision of more junior lawyers and investigators.
The successsful applicant will also conduct complex matters in tribunals and courts and provide high level advice and reports to senior management and members of the Board.
