The Law Library upcoming complimentary CPD Sessions
All Western Australian legal practitioners must have completed a minimum of 10 CPD units/points by 31 March 2026, the end of the CPD year.
The Law Library, Department of Justice, is running two complimentary CPD sessions on 17 and 19 March 2026.
Both sessions are accredited CPD activities for legal practitioners maintaining their Australian practising certificates in Western Australia.
- Lexis Advance training on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 from 1 pm to 2 pm AWST.
This free online session will be presented by a Lexis Nexis trainer remotely via Teams – a link to join the session will be sent out to attendees the day before the event. Each session is worth 1 CPD unit/point in the field/ category of Professional Skills/Barristers’ Skills.
The online session provides an orientation of Lexis Advance, along with introductory tips. It will provide you with the skills to drive research efficiency on Lexis Advance using advanced search forms across cases, legislation, secondary materials and forms and precedents. - Westlaw training on Thursday, 19 March 2026 from 1 pm to 2 pm AWST.
This free online session will be presented by Tia Friedland from Thomson Reuters remotely via streaming video – a link to join the session will be sent out to attendees the day before. Each session is worth 1 CPD unit/point in the field/ category of Professional Skills/Barristers’ Skills.
