Changes to CPD Interactive units
A minimum of five interactive units now required for the CPD year.
The Board has amended its policy on the number of interactive activities a legal practitioner is to earn in any CPD year to a minimum of five interactive units, of the ten units required for the CPD year. This also aligns to the CPD caps on private study under the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Solicitors) Rules 2015
The Board defines interactive as an activity that is part of a structured learning program, and either involves interaction between 2 or more persons, whether in person or by remote communication; or is an interactive electronic activity.
Interactive activities have broadened with electronic learning options following COVID. To be interactive, an activity can be real time through video-conferencing; can involve quizzes or questionnaires, or can involve an assessment after the activity.
Completing five units/points of interactive CPD activities will be recognised as part of fulfilling CPD requirements for the CPD year ending 31 March 2024.
