
Board welcomes six newly elected members
Three new members elected and three existing members returned to Legal Practice Board in annual election.
Three new members will be joining the Legal Practice Board following the annual election which concluded at noon Tuesday, 1 April 2025, and three existing members are returning to the Board. All elected members’ term of office is two years, beginning Thursday 3 April 2025.
The new members are:
- Nicholas van Hattem
- Jennifer Thornton
- Kate Turtley-Chappel.
The three existing members are:
- Amy Pascoe
- Patricia Femia
- Rebecca Heath.
The election was required under the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2022, subdivision 2. Election to the Board was open to local legal practitioners of at least three years’ standing and practice.
Voting was available online only this year, coordinated by an independent provider. Voting opened on Friday, 21 March. There were 1204 votes cast in the election, or 15.6 percent of the 7693 eligible practitioners -- an increase of approximately 200 votes from 2024.
