About the role

There is currently one fixed term, full time vacancy and to be filled from this recruitment process.  In addition to filling this vacancy, the Board is seeking to establish a pool of Investigators for future appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made as vacancies arise over the next twelve months from the initial date of appointment from this pool.

These positions undertake investigations of complex matters for the purposes of advising senior management and the Board’s Legal Services and Complaints Committee and Professional Affairs Committee that are both comprised of senior members of the legal profession. Further to these responsibilities, the Investigator (Legal) position instructs and/or appears in tribunals and courts in criminal and disciplinary proceedings.

Please refer to the “Position Description” for more detail about this role.  You can also obtain more information about the role expectations and responsibilities by contacting John-Paul Colella Manager – Investigations (Legal), on (08) 6211 3600.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate is required for both positions whilst the Investigator (Legal) position requires that applicants have a Degree in Law and either have a current Australian practising certificate or are eligible to obtain one prior to commencement of employment.

Applicants found suitable for this recruitment pool may also be considered for similar vacancies within the Board and the wider public sector which arise prior to the pool’s closing date.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector, you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia. For temporary positions, you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
