About the role
There is currently two permanent, full time vacancies to be filled from this recruitment process. In additional to filling this vacancy, the Board are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Investigators (Legal) for future appointments to permanent and fixed term vacancies. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made as vacancies arise over the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment from this pool.
This role reports directly to the Manager - Investigations (Legal) and is responsible for investigating and prosecuting disciplinary and criminal matters in relation to the legislation administered by the Board. This role will involve you appearing, both as instructor and counsel, in a variety of jurisdictions but predominantly the State Administrative Tribunal.
An integral part of this role involves the investigation of disciplinary matters and the drafting of advice for consideration by the Board’s Professional Affairs Committee and Legal Services and Complaints Committee. Both Committee’s consist of senior members of the legal profession including Senior Counsel.

Conditions
To be eligible for this role you must satisfy the following conditions:
- current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate;
- Degree in Law; and
- current Australian practising certificate or eligible to obtain one prior to commencement of employment.
Applicants found suitable for this recruitment pool may also be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Board and the wider public sector which arise prior to the pool’s closing date.
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector, you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
