Application for a Local Practising Certificate for the 2021/2022 Financial Year

16 Apr 2021

The Legal Profession Rules 2009 provide that the standard renewal period for the renewal of practising certificates is from 1 May until 31 May each year. Applications received during this time pay the standard application fee of $1,250 (plus a $20 contribution to the Solicitors Guarantee Fund, if required).

This year the online application form will be available from 1 May 2021.

If you hold a current local practising certificate (and you have not notified the Board that you will not be renewing your practising certificate) on or after Thursday, 29 April 2021 you will receive an email containing instructions on how to renew your local practising certificate.

Please note that as advised in our recent news item due to the increasing amount of online services offered though the Board’s website, after logging in to our website the access to renew your practising certificate will now be via a button called Online Portal.
