Application for a Local Practising Certificate for the 2020/2021 Financial Year

The Legal Profession Rules 2009  provide that the standard renewal period for the renewal of practising certificates is from 1 May until 31 May each year. Applications received during this time pay the standard application fee of $1,250 (plus a $20 contribution to the Solicitors Guarantee Fund, if required).

This year the online application form will be available from 1 May 2020.

If you hold a current local practising certificate (and you have not notified the Board of a non-renewal) on or after Wednesday, 29 April 2020 you will receive an email containing instructions on how to renew your local practising certificate.

Please note the Board’s Notice on Fees regarding the payment of practising certificate fees for the 2020/2021 renewal period.

You should ensure that you keep the Board updated with your current email address. If you are unsure if the Board has your correct email address please email the Board at general@lpbwa.com.
