Who will handle my complaint?

From 1 July 2022 new complaints in Western Australia can be made to the Legal Practice Board under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (WA).

Our staff handle complaints on a daily basis, and have authority to handle most matters directly with you.

If a complaint cannot be resolved in any way then the Legal Services and Complaints Committee or the Legal Services and Complaints Officer have delegated authority to make decisions in individual cases.

You can see more details about the Board and the Legal Services and Complaints Committee or the Legal Services and Complaints Officer here.

Under the Uniform Law, complaints may contain either a consumer matter (which includes costs disputes), a disciplinary matter, or both.

While how we handle a complaint is up to us, we will however always work do what we can to try and resolve all complaints as quickly as possible.
