Extension of time to comply with CPD
In order to be as fair as possible to members of the profession who are having difficulty in complying with the timelines set out in the Rules and CPD Policy, for this renewal year only, practitioners will be able to elect to allocate CPD points earned between 1 April and 31 May 2009 as applying to the current PC year. Accordingly, practitioners who wish to take advantage of this extra time will be able to advise the Board on their practising certificate renewal application that they ‘will have complied’ with the requirements of the Rules and Policy by 31 May 2009. This extra time for compliance will only apply for this year, and the CPD for the 2009-2010 year, and subsequent years, remains from 1 April to 31 March. Obligations under the Rules and the compulsory CPD policy must still be met.
Practice Certificate holders are reminded that they may claim CPD points dating back to 1 April 2007 for the initial CPD period and a list of approved CPD QA providers and the points available is on the Board’s website.
